Solar Panel Installer
IBEW Local 428 will follow the attached dispatch procedures for placing the panel installer classifications on our solar projects here in Kern County. These dispatch procedures will remain in effect until amended or modified, as posted at our Union Hall, 3921 N Sillect, Bakersfield, CA 93308.
If you have worked as a solar panel installer before and are interested in taking a job call, you must register by clicking "Register on Solar Panel Installer Out-of-Work List" below at any time or in person at the address listed above, Monday-Friday 1:00pm-5:00pm, as outlined in our dispatch procedures.
If you have never worked as a solar panel installer before, please click on "Solar Panel Installer Application" and complete the online form. We will contact you at the phone number you provide when new opportunities come up. There is no need to call the hall.
All calls to be dispatched the following business day will be posted under "Solar Panel Installer Job Calls" on this page and on our solar job recorder at (661) 912-0098. Anyone interested in taking those calls must sign our “Daybook” by either clicking on "Sign Daybook" (it will be available on this page when there are calls to be dispatched), or by leaving a message on the job recorder at (661) 912-0098. Daybook must be signed between 5:00pm on the day the job was posted and 8:00am on the day the job is to be dispatched.
Due to the overwhelming number of calls to our office, we ask that you visit this webpage or call the jobline at (661) 912-0098 regularly. We will update with important information as needed.
Also know that all future applicants for employment not already a Member of the IBEW will have 30 days from their report date to do so. Instructions on that process will be made available at time of dispatch.
